This will be the 6th World Phenol-Acetone conference organised by ICIS and held in Europe. The last ICIS meeting was held in 2008, and the industry has certainly been through turbulent times since then.

The phenol market was hit particularly hard by the economic downturn since every derivative in the phenolic chain is closely linked to the automotive and construction sectors.

The situation has slowly improved as we start to come out of recession; caprolactam has fared well because of demand from Asia, BPA has picked up for the same reason and adipic acid demand has responded to market consolidation.

Visibility is slowly returning to the markets, but it is still difficult to get a handle on how and when the market will return to health. The 6th ICIS Phenol-Acetone conference will look at all the factors influencing the industry now and over the next three to five years to help you make sense of the information available and the way forward. You will also be able to meet and network with the main players in the industry, to discuss the issues and make important contacts.
