SK Lubricants is the leading global manufacturer and marketer for Group III base stocks under the brands of YUBASE and YUBASE plus. SK Lubricants has three Group III lube base oil refineries producing over 25,000 barrels per day located in Ulsan, Korea and Dumai, Indonesia.   Bulk products are shipped and stored in terminals around the world. 

Mike’s doctorate is in physical chemistry. He has 27 years experience in the fuels, lubricants and base stocks petroleum business. His professional career began as a Staff Chemist for EXXON Research and Engineering Company and later in marketing technical services for EXXON Company USA, now parts of ExxonMobil. He joined Castrol as the Laboratory Manager for automotive lubricants and then was a Regional Technology Director for CASTROL Americas, now BP Lubricants Americas. 

 

Mike has been with SK for 2 years. He represents SK Lubricants on the API Lubricants Committee, the API BOI/VGRA task force, and the SAE Engine Oil Viscosity Classification Work Group.
