Hamad Al Terkait – President and Chief Executive Officer of EQUATE Petrochemical Company since November 2001.

Mr. Al-Terkait is also the Chief Executive Officer of the The Kuwait Olefins Co. (TKOC). TKOC is a holding Company of Dow and EQUATE with other local partners in Kuwait created for realizing Olefins II project. Hamad is serving as a Board of Director of the MEGlobal, a joint venture of EQUATE and PIC.

Hamad joined EQUATE in 1996 as Vice President for Marketing Department and Logistics and the Vice President for EQUATE Marketing Company(EMC). In November 1999 he was nominated as the President of Marketing Department and as the President of EQUATE Marketing Company.

Prior to joining EQUATE, Hamad served Petrochemical Industries Co. (PIC) since 1979 for over 17 years in a variety of senior management roles in sales, business development and marketing positions. His last position in PIC was Vice Chairman, Marketing Team for joint ventures

Hamad is one of the active Key Players in Gulf and was one of the three founding members of the Gulf Petrochemical and Chemicals Association (GPCA). He currently occupies the position of its Vice Chairman. ICIS Chemical Business, the leading international chemicals publication, has voted Mr. Hamad Al Terkait, as the world’s most influential person in the chemicals sector for the two consecutive years. He was voted as No. 13 in the year 2006 and No. 11 in the year 2007.

A graduate from Kuwait University with a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing in 1979, Hamad has a total 28 years of professional experience mainly in petrochemical industry.
