Luis Kaner is a chemical engineer and has a M.Sc. degree in Business Administration. Since 1989 he has worked with marketing planning in companies such as the Economic Development Agency of Rio de Janeiro, Petrobras Distribuidora, Technological Incubator of COPPETEC Foundation, IBM Brasil and others.

He joined Petrobras (holding) in September 2002. Since 2003 he has been working for Specialty Products’ Marketing Planning Management, dealing with base oils, bitumen, green petroleum coke, paraffin wax and solvents. In 2005 he became the coordinator dedicated to Brazil’s base oils’ marketing planning.

Luis Kaner is a marketing teacher, a member of the Lubricants’ Committee of the Brazilian Automotive Engineering Association, and a participant in the Brazilian Petroleum Institute Lubricants’ Committee.
