Dr. Eddy Feijen obtained his masters in Chemical Engineering and Agricultural Industries in 1991 from the Catholic University Leuven. In 1995 he obtained his PhD in applied Biology at the same University. From 1995 to 1997 he worked on the RADIUS project for the European Space Agency (RADIUS = Research Activity for the Development of the Industrial Use of Space). In 1997, he joined Petrofina Research in Feluy, Belgium, as Technical Marketing Manager for the Nitrogen Derivatives and Biodegradable Oleochemical Lubricants. In 1999, he moved to Petrofina headquarters in Brussels and became Marketing and Sales Manager for Glycerine. In 2001, he also got the Marketing and Sales responsibilities for the Fatty Alcohols. As of 2005, he furthermore looked after the Fatty Acids and became Marketing and Sales Director for the Base Oleochemicals.
