Stephen Burns joined ICIS in 2005 as Managing Editor for the Americas, based in Houston. His career in journalism has seen him cover global commodity and financial markets since 1987, starting in his native Sydney and through successive postings to Wellington, Canberra, Tokyo, Toronto, Washington DC, Singapore and Houston. He currently manages a team of 20 editorial staff who produce daily and weekly price assessments and market reports on commodity chemicals, as well as real-time news on issues affecting those markets.

Stephen majored in journalism and political science for his BA (Communications) degree from the University of Technology in Sydney, and is the only Australian reenacting the U.S. Civil War with the First Texas Volunteer Brigade.
