Ian Shott is the founder, majority owner and CEO of Excelsyn. This is a fast growing integrated Contract Development and Manufacturing Services business focused exclusively on the global Pharmaceutical Supply Chain.

Ian has held senior executive board positions in the International Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Industries for over twenty years and has worked in the UK, France, Switzerland and the U.S.A.
 
He was latterly President of RhodiaChirex’s Manufacturing division having previously held leadership posts at Lonza and Zeneca.
 
Ian was the Technical Vice President of the Institution of Chemical Engineers from 2004 - 2007, and became Deputy President in May 2008. He also Chairs the Board of the Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences (CELS). 

He is a visiting professor and on the council of Newcastle University, and is on the Industrial Advisory Board for Chemical Engineering at Imperial College and Engineering Sciences at Oxford University as well as the Strategy Advisory Board of the American Chemical Society. He joined the Innovation Strategy Board for the Chemical Innovation–Knowledge Transfer Network(CI – KTN) in early 2007 and agreed to chair the governments Innovation Growth Team for Industrial Biotechnology in October 2007 subsequently joining the Ministerial Advisory Group for manufacturing in early 2008.
 
Ian was honoured to be elected a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering this year, receiving his scroll from Prince Philip on the 29th October 2008.
