Ainor Kamarudin graduated from Imperial College Institute of Science, Technology and Medicine, London. He subsequently joined PETRONAS and was immediately assigned to PETRONAS Second Refinery in Melaka, Malaysia. He served as Process Engineer in various process units including Hydrogen Production, Hydrocracking and Crude Distillation Units.

Ainor then moved to assume the position of Senior Process Engineer in PETRONAS’ maiden venture into lube base oil manufacturing. He performed the Detailed Feasibility, Basic Engineering of the said project. During the Detailed Engineering stage of the project, he assumed the post of Process Manager. He was then made the Commissioning Manager of the project which successfully delivered PETRONAS Superior Quality Base Oil under the name ETRO.
