Steve Butler has been advising multinational chemical companies for 21 years. He has worked with many of the major European and North American players, at both corporate and business unit level: he has completed over 300 assignments for some 85 organisations.

He is best described as ‘an industrial marketing strategist’, although he has particular expertise in globalisation,organisational design and development, change management and brand strategy.
He has been involved in numerous acquisitions, usually on the ‘buy side’, assisting both in pre-acquisition search and ‘commercial due diligence’ and post-acquisition integration. 
 
Prior to becoming a consultant he worked for a European specialty chemical company, firstly in sales and sales management, then was responsible for 6 years for international new ventures – in which time he lived in the Middle East, Far East and Central America.
 
He took a year out in 1986 to do an MBA at INSEAD, and spent his first 6 years in consulting with 2 major firms. Latterly he was Head of Strategy for a top audit firm, before starting his own consulting practice in 1992.
 
He has been a regular speaker at ICIS conferences since the mid-1990’s.
